Race check-in will be available to ease rush for Saturday morning.
Saturday August 10th, 2013
8am – Check-in begins at the pool.
8:45 – Pre-race announcements for athletes.
9am – Altru Clinic Kids Division heats (6) begin (beginning 3 minutes apart)
9:15 – Estimated time of final Altru Clinic Kids Division heat
10am – Estimated time of Altru Clinic Kids Division heat completion
10:15 – RiverView Health Adult Division heats (6) begin (beginning 10 minutes apart)
11:05 – Estimated time of final RiverView Health Division Adult heat
1pm – Estimated time RiverView Health Adult Division heat completion
1:30 – Award ceremony for all divisions
There will be 6 swim heats. This will require all participants to exhibit proper etiquette in the pool. There will be minimal warm-up time in the pool between heats.
There will be 2 swimmers per lane and all swimmers will start in the pool. Circle swim to the right of the lane. Tickle the feet of the swimmer ahead if need to pass but remember that you seem faster when drafting. Lap counters will be assigned to each lane. The lap counter will signal when you are done.
Your heat assignment is determined by your registration swim time you entered. Slowest swimmers will be in the earliest heats.
Relay teams must tag off in the transition area.
Bike helmets are MANDATORY for all participants while biking. Helmet must be on and chin strap fastened. Event officials will monitor throughout the race and failure to comply will result in disqualification.
Use caution in transition area. You must exit transition area and walk bike to Elm Street before mounting.
Officials will monitor routes as best as possible for traffic control. Please use common sense and courtesy to other athletes, pedestrians, and vehicles.
No headphone, ipods, mp3 players or personal audio devices are to be carried or worn at any time during the race. Time penalties will be applied.
Street or sidewalks can be utilized on Barrette.
As it the biking route, Officials will monitor routes as best as possible for traffic control. Please use common sense and courtesy to other athlete, pedestrians, and vehicles.
