Thursday Evening Block Parties

Stop in to the various Crookston establishments with a wide range of promotions for you on a Thursday evening during the summer months.  Each week’s festivities highlight a new section of the town with the neighborhood business staying open in the evening hours to display their products and services. With music and food available within the “block,” it’s fun for everyone.

 Customer Appreciation Day

This annual event is an opportunity for our local business to show their thanks for all the support from their customers.  Stop by one of the participating businesses to pick up your ticket and check out the what each business has on display for you.  Along with the individual booths local merchants and business have set-up, this event offers a complimentary meal for our Crookston patrons.

Sugarbeet Scramble

Join us at Minakwa Golf Course as the Red River Valley Growers Assosiation along with the Camber and Visitors Bureau host the anuual Sugarbeet Golf Scramble.  The event is one way we try to show appreciation to local growers for the economic impact they have on our community.  Proceeds for this event allow the Camber to award a scholarship each year to a University of minnesota Crookston student majoring in an Agriculture Degree.

Water Wars

As part of our summer Thursday evening slate of activities, we embrace the Crookston July heat with us and enjoy Water Wars.  Supportyour team of firefighters in a “tug-o-war” style battle to spray the ball back the other way with the fire hose.  We also offer an inflatable games and other activities for the kids. 


We remember the ox carts that once plodded through our prairie land every third weekend in August as we celebrate with our largest festival of the year. The four-day is rated as one of the top festivals in northwest Minnesota.  Ox Cart Days includes: bed races, pageants, tractor pull, medallion hunt, 10K and 2 mile runs, athlete’s challenge, battle of the bands, rib-fest, dances, a top-rated Classic Cruisers Car Show, parade, and a fireworks finale. It is a time to enjoy the outdoors, eat some delicious and sweet food and join the big celebration with the small town flavor.

 UMC Picnic

Say goodbye to the summer and welcome in a new school year on the UMC Campus with the UMC picnic.  Free to UMC students and Faculty & Staff, Crookston ventors have the opportunity to showcase their products to the campus community.
